Youssou N’Dour is one of the true superstars of African music. This concert from 1989 features him with his band Le Super Etoile de Dakar in the first of the four appearances he has made at the Montreux Jazz Festival to date. Featuring many of his best tracks including « Immigrés » and « Shaking The Tree » it is a showcase for the colour, emotion and energy so characteristic of his performances. As a bonus there are five tracks included from his 1995 appearance including the worldwide hit « 7 Seconds ».
